Valley of Flowers TrekA trekking-focused trip to the Valley of Flowers National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage alpine valley that blooms with hundreds of flower species during its short monsoon season.
The Valley of Flowers is only accessible for a narrow window each year, and the trek itself is a genuine physical undertaking, so this itinerary is built specifically around that season and pace rather than general sightseeing.
Short drive to Haridwar, one of Hinduism's holiest cities and the point where the Ganges truly begins its plains journey. Evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, one of India's most atmospheric river ceremonies.
Drive from Haridwar towards Govindghat (approx. 9–10 hours), then trek to Ghangaria as the base for the valley.
A full day within the valley itself, home to hundreds of alpine flower species in bloom season, with the nearby Hemkund Sahib gurudwara and lake as an optional, more strenuous extension for fit travellers.
A further day in the Ghangaria area, either a second visit into the valley for those who'd like more time among the flowers, or the Hemkund Sahib extension for fit travellers who skipped it the first day.
A final day in the Ghangaria area at a gentler pace, with time to rest ahead of the return trek to the trailhead.
