Grand Rajasthan CircuitThe full Rajasthan loop for travellers with the time for it — Jaipur, Pushkar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur, covering desert, lake and hill terrain across the state's five signature cities.
This is the itinerary for a genuine deep-dive into Rajasthan rather than a highlights reel — if you have ten or more days available for this state alone, this is how we'd sequence it.
Drive from Agra to Jaipur (approx. 5–5.5 hours), with an optional stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal capital, roughly midway.
A full day of Jaipur's headline sights: Amber Fort in the morning light, then the City Palace, the Jantar Mantar observatory and a photo stop at Hawa Mahal.
Drive into Pushkar, a quiet lakeside pilgrimage town built around one of India's few temples dedicated to Brahma. Evening aarti ceremony at the lake ghats, one of the more understated but genuinely moving experiences in Rajasthan.
Drive from Pushkar to Jodhpur (approx. 4.5–5 hours).
A full day centred on Mehrangarh, one of India's most dramatic hilltop forts, followed by Jaswant Thada's white marble cenotaph and a wander through the spice and textile stalls of the old clock-tower market.
Drive into Jaisalmer, the golden sandstone fort city on the edge of the Thar Desert. Afternoon exploring the living fort — still home to a working community inside its walls — and the carved-stone havelis nearby.
An overnight desert camp experience in the dunes outside the city: a camel or jeep safari at sunset, a folk-music evening around the fire, and a night under some of the clearest skies in Rajasthan before returning to the city.
Drive from Jaisalmer to Udaipur (approx. 6.5–7 hours, or via Jodhpur to break the journey).
A full day covering the City Palace complex, Jagdish Temple and the Saheliyon-ki-Bari gardens, with free time in the old city's lakeside cafes and haveli-lined lanes in the afternoon.
Morning at leisure in Udaipur before a private transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
Well-located hotels in each city, twin-sharing with breakfast included; a 5-star or heritage-property upgrade is available on request.
Private air-conditioned vehicle and driver for the full itinerary, plus any internal flights specifically listed in the day-by-day plan; airport transfers included.
