Leh-Ladakh ClassicThe classic Ladakh circuit — Leh town with its palace and monasteries, the dune-and-monastery landscape of Nubra Valley, and the striking colours of Pangong Lake — built around the acclimatisation days high altitude requires.
Ladakh's altitude makes acclimatisation non-negotiable, so this itinerary is paced specifically around that safety requirement rather than a generic sightseeing schedule, with Nubra and Pangong each given their own overnight rather than rushed as day trips.
Fly into Leh. Because of the altitude (around 3,500m), the arrival day and the following day are kept deliberately light — short walks only — to allow your body to acclimatise before any further travel; this is a firm safety practice, not a scheduling formality.
A second, still-gentle acclimatisation day — a short stroll to the market and a quiet cafe, with no significant exertion — before any full day of sightseeing begins.
Once fully acclimatised, a day covering Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and the old town at an easy pace, with time for local markets and cafes.
Drive to Nubra Valley over Khardung La, one of the world's highest motorable passes, descending into the valley's sand dunes and double-humped Bactrian camels, a legacy of the old Silk Route trade.
Drive from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Leh (approx. 7–8 hours).
Drive back to Leh (approx. 5 hours) ahead of your onward flight.
Morning at leisure in Leh before a private transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
Well-located hotels in each city, twin-sharing with breakfast included; a 5-star or heritage-property upgrade is available on request.
Private air-conditioned vehicle and driver for the full itinerary, plus any internal flights specifically listed in the day-by-day plan; airport transfers included.
Daily breakfast included. Lunches and dinners are at your own choice so you can explore local restaurants, with recommendations from your guide — let us know if you'd prefer these pre-arranged instead.
October to March for the most comfortable sightseeing temperatures.

Yes — inner-line permits are required for Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake; we arrange these on your behalf once your dates are confirmed.
Very — we keep the first two days genuinely light regardless of how well you feel, since altitude sickness can appear with a delay; this isn't a step we'll skip to save time.
Fully private — your own vehicle, driver and guide, on your own schedule, not a fixed-departure group tour.
