Golden Triangle, Shimla & Manali ExtendedAn extended North India trip combining the classic Golden Triangle monuments with a full Himachal Pradesh mountain leg through Shimla and Manali, for travellers with the time for a comprehensive itinerary.
This is one of our longest combinations, giving equal, unhurried time to both North India's monuments and Himachal's mountain towns rather than compressing either.
Private airport pickup and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, the rest of the day is free to rest, or we can arrange a gentle evening orientation drive past India Gate and the illuminated government buildings of Lutyens' Delhi.
A full day split between the two Delhis: Old Delhi's Jama Masjid, a walk or cycle-rickshaw ride through the lanes of Chandni Chowk, and the exterior of the Red Fort, followed by an afternoon covering Humayun's Tomb, India Gate and a photo stop at Qutub Minar.
Drive from Delhi to Agra (approx. 3.5–4 hours).
Drive from Agra to Jaipur (approx. 4.5–5 hours).
A full day of Jaipur's headline sights: Amber Fort in the morning light, then the City Palace, the Jantar Mantar observatory and a photo stop at Hawa Mahal.
Drive from Jaipur towards Shimla (approx. 10–11 hours, or via Delhi to break the journey).
A day covering Shimla's colonial architecture — the Viceregal Lodge, Christ Church — plus, if you have time, a short excursion to Kufri for wider mountain views.
Drive from Shimla to Manali (approx. 7–8 hours).
A day toward Solang Valley and (season permitting) Rohtang Pass, for high-altitude mountain scenery and, in winter, snow activities; summer visitors often substitute a gentler walk around Old Manali and the Hadimba Temple instead.
A further day around Old Manali's cafe-lined lanes and the Hadimba Temple, with time at leisure to enjoy the Kullu Valley scenery at your own pace.
Morning at leisure in Manali before a private transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
Well-located hotels in each city, twin-sharing with breakfast included; a 5-star or heritage-property upgrade is available on request.
Private air-conditioned vehicle and driver for the full itinerary, plus any internal flights specifically listed in the day-by-day plan; airport transfers included.
Daily breakfast included. Lunches and dinners are at your own choice so you can explore local restaurants, with recommendations from your guide — let us know if you'd prefer these pre-arranged instead.
